Today is Super Tuesday, the earliest day that either the Republican or Democratic state parties can hold primaries and caucuses unless given special permission by the National Parties.
It’s fitting that this year Super Tuesday should fall the weekend after the Super Bowl, because Super Tuesday is the Super Bowl of presidential politics.
There are 24 states up for grabs with 1081 Republican delegates and 2064 Democratic delegates on the chopping block.
The states holding a primary or caucus today are:
JUST DEMOCRATS
Kansas
New Mexico
Idaho
JUST REPUBLICANS
West Virginia
Montana
BOTH
California
New York
Illinois
New Jersey
Massachusetts
Georgia
Missouri
Minnesota
Tennessee
Colorado
Arizona
Connecticut
Alabama
Oklahoma
Arkansas

North Dakota

Stay tuned to SeattlePoliticore.org throughout Super Tuesday to get your freshest news as we focus on today as a precursor to our hardcore look at Seattle politics during the Washington State caucus on the 9th.
