Early impressions in Sammamish

12:58 pm February 9th, 2008 by burlinea · No Comments

It’s a pretty relaxed atmosphere at Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus (the site of Sammamish’s 5th district.) In less than an hour, this building will house over 250 people from 19 districts.

Very early support is showing for Obama. David Huttenan arrived an hour ago with his wife to attend his first caucus. He said Obama’s speech on health care inspired him.

“I am a former Vet and have insurance, but I can’t get my wife on health care because of the cost,” Huttenan said. “It should be government funded.”

Audrey Zackowitz went to Obama’s Key Arena speech yesterday and hopes that same energy carries over to today. She said, however, she’d be willing to change over her vote to Clinton if support for Obama is poor.

“I’d be willing to vote for Donald Duck if he was a Democrat,” Zackowitz said. “We need to get out of this cycle we’re in.”
