Trouble Accessing Republican Caucus in 37th

1:25 pm February 9th, 2008 by lauram · No Comments

Charlie and I are currently trying to enter into Seattle’s 37th District Republican caucus at the Seattle Public Library Columbia Branch on Rainier Ave. South. Ross Marzolf, district chair for last 3-4 years, has been denying us access into the caucus. He told us we were not allowed to talk to anybody and characterized us as “liberal journalism students invading a Republican caucus as I am sure you all are.” A local sheriff who is at the closed door of the entry said Marzolf is not allowed to deny us access. People are arriving. I spoke with one Ron Paul supporter who told me her husband and sons on their way too. Marzolf has been greeting many who arrive by first name. We assured Marzolf we would not be disruptive and he said he didn’t care and that, “I can’t imagine a positive story out of this.”
