The scene today at the Pacific Cascade Freshman Campus in Issaquah was inspiring. Several first-time caucus participants dove enthusiastically into the process. Caucus veterans with 20+ years of experience and involvement were delighted by the turnout and the community atmosphere.
The following video shows how the cafeteria at Pacific Cascade quickly became packed with voters. It was very difficult to try to maneuver through the crowd!
The video shows commentary from Alicia Moneyhun, the Hillary Clinton supporter I spoke with who became an alternate delegate. She was one of the few obvious Clinton supporters there, so don’t let the lack of Obama commentary in the video throw you off. Moneyhun and her mother were exceptions to the crowd of Obama supporters.
Moneyhun also expressed to me a sentiment that I heard echoed throughout today’s caucus and yesterday’s Key Arena rally for Obama.
“People are sick and tired of what’s happened to our country,” she said. “It’s embarrassing internationally. That’s why we’re here. I’m here to make sure I did everything I could to elect a Democrat.”
