Hawaii results are in

Obama just won Hawaii; this is not much of a surprise.  Hawaii is the state where Obama was born and where he has family members still living. Earlier this week family members were campaigning for both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.  Hillary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea and Barack Obama’s sister Maya Soetoro-Ng have both been speaking in Hawaii.

Obama now definitely has reason to stake a claim on the front runner position.  With 8% of precincts reporting, Obama has a commanding lead, 77% to Clinton’s 23%.  This win increases Obama’s streak from 9 contests to 10.  Now that Clinton has had 10 straight losses, she must win both Ohio and Texas by large margins to catch up; the proportions must be at least 60% to 40% for her to even the score with Obama.  Her comeback just got a lot harder.
