My partner-in-crime Laura Mansfield and I are currently driving through rush-hour traffic in Austin, Texas, on the way to San Antonio for Barack Obama’s Stand For Change Rally. I’ve gotta say, the traffic here is a little more concentrated than it was in Couer d’Alene, ID.
Laura and I will be covering the event from the press area, while our colleagues Emily Kim and Mehgan Sellers will be covering the event from a crowd perspective. Record numbers are expected; we’ll see if it competes with the Key Arena crowd.
We’ll keep y’all posted throughout the night.

Laura & Kate:
Glad you could make it to sunny San Antonio! I don’t envy you trying to learn the Texas primary/caucus system. It’s cruel, but fair. Basically, it awards bonus points to candidates who have their ground game in order. According to the SA Express News, Obama’s rally had 4x as many attendees as Hillary’s.
The Boerne contingent will be watching your reports with great interest!
