Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee has been taking some serious heat to drop out of the Republican presidential contest. It’s almost mathematically impossible for him to beat John McCain for the GOP nomination, and party leaders want Huckabee to do what Mitt Romney did after Super Tuesday on Feb. 5 — step aside so that […]

Pakistan Problem
February 20th, 2008 · No Comments
In the never ending game of politics it seems as if one candidate is always wrong about some issue, some scenario. After Obama and McCain were victorious in Wisconsin, McCain let it be known that his Democratic counterpart is not suited to lead the United States.
Pakistan has been in the news more often than not […]

Exit Polling Shows Obama Gaining
February 20th, 2008 · No Comments
Although they are still close in the race for delegates, Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama may be finding some distance between them, one that the delegate count may not accurately reflect. Based on exit polling from Virginia, Maryland and Wisconsin, the numbers are starting to show that Sen. Obama is cutting into some […]

Another Sweep-Makes Ten for Obama
February 20th, 2008 · No Comments
With results starting to come in from Hawaii, it looks like Obama is going to sweep all of Tuesday’s contests, giving him bragging rights for ten wins in a row. It seems Obama has definitely acheived front runner status despite demographic polling information that was thought to favor Clinton among certain segments of the population, namely white women and […]

While the Mercer Island GOP caucus wrapped up, caucus leader Lori Sotelo grumbled about the turnout. It wasn’t the lack of numbers, according to her; it was the lack of true Republicans. Many of the first time caucus goers on February 9th were there for long-shot candidates and were unwilling to support the party, she […]

O Voters, Where Art Thou?

If the Washington state caucus was like baseball’s All-Star game (a midseason battle royale for home field advantage at the World Series), then this year’s primary was like football’s Pro Bowl (which, held after the Super Bowl, gives no prize to the winning team and is held mostly for fun). The All-Star game is a celebrated event; […]

Meanwhile, back in Wisconsin …
