HOUSTON – Just before 11:00 a.m. today a small crowd of volunteers was finishing up setting the stage for the arrival of President Bill Clinton, who was set to speak at Mason Park in Houston, TX at noon.

By noon a large mass of nearly 1000 people withstood the occasional rain showers to hear Clinton speak in support of his wife, presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton.

The crowd was mainly made up of stalwart Hillary supporters who reminisced about the “ol’ days” of the Clinton presidency, and predicted economic and social prosperity if we had another Clinton as Commander in Chief.

“Half of the problems in this country could be solved by rolling back on things that George W. Bush has enacted,” said Damion Jackson, a 13 year resident of Houston, “I want to see her finish what Bill started.”

Mike from Katy, TX said that he came out to get his daughter a chance to meet President Clinton, “I like him and I really wanted to see him today.”

Many people gave speeches while the crowd waited for President Clinton to arrive; they all talked about the experience of Hillary Clinton and her 35 years of service, starting in Texas.

Just before the motorcade for President Clinton arrived a speaker made a pointed remark at Senator Barack Obama when he said, “Hope doesn’t put food on the table, hope doesn’t pay the mortgage.”

Then, a little over an hour late the motorcade arrived carrying President Clinton. His reception was that of a rock star, the crowd cheering and moving to shake his hand and take a picture of the former president.

“The eyes of the world will be on Texas on Tuesday, waiting to see who will be the next President of the United States of America,” said one of the speakers introducing Clinton.

The moment came and Clinton took the stage. President Clinton spoke for just under 13 minutes before he thanked the crowd for coming out to show support for his wife and then shook hands before he left again.
