AUSTIN-It’s decision time for Texas. It’s only hours away until thousands of Texans get to do the “Two Step Primacus.” Some have chosen to vote early, and have been confident with thier candidate preference all along. However, there are many others out there, who still can’t decide who they will vote for.

At the Hilary Clinton Rally near Austin Texas tonight, I spoke with attendees who had no second thoughts about casting thier vote for Hill, and one attendee who was undecided.

Victor Mercado, a vietnam veteran, attended the rally with his wife, Dolores. They are both passionate about Hillarys message, and believe she is the only candidate that can get the job done. Mercado thinks the war has gone on too long, and although he wants the troops to return from duty, he said it will take time. Mercado’s son has been in the army for fifteen years, and has been scheduled to go to Afghanistan.

“It’s very important our kids come back home,” said Mercado, who considers experience to be an important part of a candidates qualifications. He is confident with Clinton’s experience, and said Barack Obama has a lack of it. Mercado said it would be a “big mistake,” if Obama were elected the next president of the United States.

Clinton spoke for approximately a half hour at the rally, and stated she would bring the troops home within in 60 days. The crowd cheered for Hillary when she said, “there is a difference between talk and solutions.”

This is what Tommie Garza, Mercados sister, who also attended the event, likes about Clinton. Garza calls Clinton her idol, and thinks she has the best experience to be Commander in Chief. “Hillary has the most experience, rather than the talker,” said Garza. The economy and immigration, specifically border control, are what Garza would like Clinton to address if elected president.

Clinton only spoke for about 25 minutes, where she discussed her healthcare plans and other issues, but did not go into any detail about immigration at the rally.

The decision to Mercado and his sister, Garza ,to vote for Clinton is a clear one. But, that isn’t the case for thousands of other undecided voters.

Alvin Brannan, who has lived in Austin his whole life, will be voting on Tuesday, and he attended the event because he still didn’t know who he was going to vote for. Brannan just wanted to hear what Clinton had to say, and admitted he goes back and forth between Clinton and Obama all day.

He said he was most concerned about the Iraq war and the economy, and said Clinton’s vote for the war was something that bothered him. Although Brannan has been to no Obama rallies, he said Obama’s grassroots campaign has impressed him. Brannan said he is leaning towards Obama. He wants, “more of a populis president, rather than a corporate president.”

Clinton, who looked and sounded tired, told the crowd she is the candidate to turn the economy around and said: “oil companies sure don’t need your tax profits.”

After the rally Brannan said he was still undecided. He thought Clinton came across as very sincere, and said: “I think she has the follow through to get the job done, but I don’t know if Obama does.”

Brannon added: “I guess I have a lot of thinking still to do.”

Clinton and Obama have been consistently close, roughly a 50-50 split, in a heated run for the democratic nomination. The pressure is on tommorow all over Texas, starting at 7 a.m. when the polls open. And as Clinton said at the rally, “This is a big vote for a big decision.”
