Clinton claims that if it is, she is the right lady for the job.
A recent report by the Associated Press, on information received from the Canadian government that questions Obama’s stance on NAFTA, could be a deciding factor for voters between Clinton and Obama in today’s Ohio race.
In the memo, from a Canadian diplomat, it was said that an Obama adviser told Canada’s government the candidate’s criticism of NAFTA was “more about political positioning than a clear articulation of policy plans,” according to CNN.com.
This information could be problematic for Obama, in Ohio, because NAFTA is so poorly looked upon in the state. On the same point, Obama has critisisized Clinton throughout the entire campaign for once supporting NAFTA, which her husband signed when he was President.
An Obama spokesperson, Bill Burton, said that his words were misrepresented and the Canadian government has said that they, in no way, were implying that their conversation with Obama contradicted what he was saying to the public.
The Obama campaign said that this is Clinton twisting the facts because the campaign is coming to an end. If Obama wins Ohio, he is likely to take the nomination.
But what really matters is what the voters think about this information, which they will demonstrate today as they go into the Ohio primaries.
We’ll keep you posted.
