When going about your day today, try to keep in mind one thing: The Wyoming Democratic Caucuses are today.
That means a total of 18 delagates are up for grabs today, 12 to be decided in today’s caucus and 6 superdelegates, according to CNN.
Now, on the small scale, 18 delegates is nothing to write home about, but in a race this close, 18 delegates means so much more.
And the people of Wyoming seem to know it.
The whole election, to date, has shown unprecidented voter turnout and Wyoming is no exception.
“Wyoming Democrats have relished the attention, harkening back to the 1960 Democratic National Convention when the state’s delegation cast 15 votes that pushed Sen. John F. Kennedy over the top for the nomination,” according to bnd.com
As for the Wyoming Republicans, their caucus was on January 5th, and Mitt Romney took the win with 67 percent of the votes.
Though the delegate numbers are not enough to change the leader in the race, Obama is hoping to regain his momentum while Clinton is hoping to continue to ride the wave from last week’s near sweep, according to bnd.com
But because today is a caucus, Clinton may be in trouble. Obama has done remarkably well in all the caucuses to date.
The question is, can he pick back up after Clinton’s big day last Tuesday?
With only 30 percent of the precincts reporting, Obama is in the lead…we’ll see if he can hold it.
