Results are in, and Barack Obama defeated Hillary Clinton tonight in Wyoming. Obama received 61% of the vote and Clinton, 38% of the vote. Twelve delegates were up for grabs, and Obama won 7, Clinton won 5. Although it’s not many, every delegate counts in this dead-heat race where less than 600 delegates remain.
Just like past caucus sites around […]

Wyoming comes to play
March 8th, 2008 · 2 Comments
When going about your day today, try to keep in mind one thing: The Wyoming Democratic Caucuses are today.
That means a total of 18 delagates are up for grabs today, 12 to be decided in today’s caucus and 6 superdelegates, according to CNN.
Now, on the small scale, 18 delegates is nothing to write home about, […]

Over the weekend I spent a couple days in Houston, Texas following the large GLBT community in the Montrose area. I attended events for a GLBT steering committee for Obama as well as a Stonewall Democrats event for Clinton. During these adventures I observed some interesting things and met some even more interesting people.
One such […]

March 7th, 2008 · No Comments
When superdelegate and DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee member David McDonald explained to me how Hillary Clinton could seat defunct delegates from Michigan and Florida, I knew the issue would heat up again at some point.
It looks like Michigan and Florida are now entering the spotlight again, after contests Tuesday in Vermont, Rhode Island, Ohio […]

Saturday night I walked the “Gayborhood” of Houston with a GLBT-for-Obama sticker on my back—and I didn’t even know it.
Let me tell you how it got there.
Standing in line at Starbucks on Montrose, I was approached Obama supporter Rebekah Lee. She walked up to me, put her hand on my shoulder, and asked […]

After last night’s win in Texas, President Bush has officially endorsed Sen. John McCain. In an e-mail to supporters, McCain said:
Last night, we did it. We won the Republican nomination. It was a long, up and down journey, but we stuck together, spoke honestly to the American people, and our steadfast determination has paid […]

He took the bad news rather well.
Stanley Smith, 70, of Center, Texas, a small town some 17 miles from the Louisiana border, has been a committed fan of former Ark. Gov. Mike Huckabee since last year.
But after hearing that Huckabee conceded the nomination to Sen. John McCain, Smith, a retired dentist from […]

Clinton vows to “go all the way”
March 4th, 2008 · No Comments
Clinton took Ohio on her base support of older voters, blue collar workers, and whites, according to exit polls cited in this Guardian article.
To use her turn of phrase, I find it very curious–yes, very curious–that in this confetti-filled thank you speech from CNN, she frames herself as a comeback kid when
(1) She’s an integral […]
