After Hillary Clinton’s victory in Pennsylvania, she is claiming a new argument in order to sway the uncommitted superdelegates over to her side. An article in the New York Times details her “new math.”
“I’m very proud that, as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anybody else,” Mrs. Clinton said on Wednesday in a campaign appearance in Indianapolis. “It’s a very close race, but if you count — as I count — the 2.3 million people who voted in Michigan and Florida, then we are going to build on that.”
Is that true, is she winning the popular vote? Barack Obama wasn’t on the ballot in Michigan.
From CNN:
If Michigan and Florida are counted, Clinton is ahead by 100,000 votes — 15.1 million to Obama’s 15 million. Without those states, Obama has a 500,000 vote lead, 14.4 million to 13.9 million.
Last week in Pennsylvania, I talked with many supporters of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. And those who weren’t supporting Clinton gave different reasons. But, the reason I heard most was people didn’t think Clinton was honest.
I know that Clinton is making this new math arguement for the swaying of super delegates to her side. But, how honest is this argument? Is this a stretch of the truth? Because, the last thing Clinton should do, is anything that would make her look dishonest.
