The Washington Bureau Chief for NBC News is Tim Russert. He is considered the dean of political reporting among TV news reporters. In 2000 and 2004, he became famous for his hand-tallying of electoral votes with a white board, pen, and eraser.
On MSNBC, Russert just said this: “We now know who the Democratic nominee is going to be, and no one is going to dispute it.” Here’s the video:
Russert also noted that Hillary Clinton has cancelled all her morning TV news appearances on Wednesday. And all her public events for the entire day. And her campaign’s email that just went out doesn’t ask for money — even though Ben Smith at politico is reporting that the Clinton campaign has serious money troubles:
I asked Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe just now whether Clinton had given or loaned her campaign more money in the run-up to North Carolina and Indiana.
“Might be. Might not be,” McAuliffe said, adding that the campaign would release more fundraising details tomorrow.
In the past, Clinton aides have denied a second Clinton loan, but McAuliffe said tonight his policy is not to talk about fundraising details.
And Karl Rove, uber-Republican Party strategist, on Fox News Channel said: “I think there’s a Democratic nominee now.”
