The Postman caught Congressman Dave Reichert’s (R-Auburn) name is on the “10 most vulnerable members of congress” list over on Roll Call. Josh Kurtz had this to say about Reichert:
It’s tough to go from hero cop to endangered incumbent in such a short stretch of time, but that’s the former King County sheriff’s fate in a suburban Seattle district that is steadily becoming more Democratic. Reichert still has a reservoir of good will to draw from as he fights off Democrat Darcy Burner for the second straight cycle. But Burner has become a more polished and confident campaigner — and has outpaced the incumbent on the fundraising front for the past few quarters.
This is good news to the Democratic party who has been backing Darcy Burner against Reichert for a while now.
However, Burner has her own problems as shown in an article by the P-I on Wednesday.
In her rematch with Republican U.S. Rep. Dave Reichert, Democratic challenger Darcy Burner is again playing the Iraq card, although this time with more heft: She has put forth a 21-page plan to end the war, drawing support from dozens of other Democratic congressional candidates and attracting favorable notice in the national media.
But it’s unclear how much good that will do her this time around on the Sammamish Plateau or in the rest of the 8th District, which covers eastern King County and reaches south into Pierce County.
As the article goes on to point out, this tactic almost succeeded in getting Burner elected, however, President Bush is on the way out (actually: 256 Days, 13 hours 30 minutes) so that target isn’t going to hold forever.
Also it is important to keep in mind that associating Reichert with Bush and the White House didn’t work during the 2006 midterm elections, which were seen as taking away much of the President’s power, so two years later when things seem to be quieting down and many Republicans are claiming success of “the surge” will it work any better?

Just a point of information: Darcy Burner and Dave Reichert are not the only candidates running for the House of Representatives in the 8th Congressional District, although, the Corporate Mainstream News Media, generally, has implied otherwise.
C. Mark Greene is among four active candidates in the 8th that have filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Mark is the founder of a new political party, the Party of Commons, the progressive William Jennings Bryan wing of politics in America, generally, and of Washington’s 8th Congressional District, in particular.
C. Mark Greene is running an active campaign, has spoken to thousands of potential supporters in the 8th District, and is confident that he will do quite well in the Top 2 Primary.
With at least 4 candidates on the ballot, second place, and thereby a General Election qualifier, may only require 15% of the vote.
