Barack’s Hanford moment

Sen. Barack Obama got stumped while stumping in Oregon this past Monday; as reported in The Tri-City Herald:

Obama spent nearly half of his hour in Pendleton taking questions from the audience.

Just one stumped him.

What was he going to do to address the roller coaster of budget promises for cleanup of the Hanford nuclear reservation that leads to layoffs? asked a woman who identified herself as a fourth-grade teacher in Hermiston.

“I am not familiar with the Hanford site, so I don’t know what’s going on,” he said, but promised to immediately look into it.”

The P-I’s Strange Bedfellows blog pointed out the silliness of the Obama campaign’s failure to brief it’s candidate of not briefing.

No doubt some poor advance staffer will be sent to Dutch Harbor for the duration of the campaign over that.
