Clinton’s campaign crisis

May 8th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Hillary Clinton’s campaign recently received some massive loans from her biggest supporter: Hillary Clinton.
Clinton’s personal injection of $6.4 million - on top of the $5 million she loaned herself in January - is just one of many signs that her campaign’s demise is imminent.
Barack Obama’s camp has pointed out Clinton’s loans and campaign manager David […]

Economists explain bad logic of proposed gas tax holiday

May 1st, 2008 · 5 Comments

John McCain recently proposed a “gas tax holiday” - a suspension of the 18.4-cents-per-gallon gas tax during the summer, which is peak driving season. Hillary Clinton has also supported this plan to ease the pain of skyrocketing gas prices. Now economists - and Barack Obama - are saying it’s a bad idea.
Here’s what Princeton economics […]

Gov. Easley places his bet on Clinton

Hillary Clinton “makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy,” said North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley today in his endorsement of Sen. Clinton.
“There’s a lot of ‘yes we can’ and ‘yes we should’ going around,” he said, taking what seemed to be a subtle jab at Obama. “Hillary Clinton is ready to deliver. That’s the difference.”
Politico […]

After Hillary Clinton’s victory in Pennsylvania, she is claiming a new argument in order to sway the uncommitted superdelegates over to her side. An article in the New York Times details her “new math.”

Obama’s former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, has chosen to speak out. Bill Moyers airs an interview tonight with Wright addressing the controversy. Here is a clip.

I don’t think this helps the Barack Obama campaign in any way. The next upcoming primary, Indiana, is a statistical tie between Hillary Clinton and Obama, according to an Indianapolis […]

In the last couple of days, a slew of PA […]

Philadelphia City Paper reporters go undercover as Obama/Clinton volunteers

April 19th, 2008 · 4 Comments

“We are well aware of the tightrope we’re walking,” wrote Brian Howard in an Editor’s Letter for the Philadelphia City Paper.
The “tightrope” he’s talking about is the fine line between reporting on vital information for the public good and violating journalism ethics:
In the name of providing as genuine an analysis as possible, we sent a […]

A little controversy close to home

April 18th, 2008 · 1 Comment

MoveRed.org sent out a press release late yesterday afternoon highlighting a video posted to Facebook by the UW’s Young Democrats. The video features members of the YD leadership team, including Max Wagner and Alex Lark, talking in what seems to be a satirical way about race, religion and terrorism.
But in this sensistive media environment, and in […]

April 16th, 2008 · No Comments

By Will Mari, SeattlePoliticore.org
The youth vote and “Obamamania” seem to be one and the same.
Young Democrats are fired up about Sen. Barack Obama’s  twin, if somewhat vague, messages of hope and change in a way not seen since Democratic Sen. Eugene McCarthy ran as a populist insurgent in the 1968 presidential election.
But what about […]
