On the road in Indiana: some final thoughts

May 8th, 2008 · No Comments

FRANKFORT — We walked into Jack and Jill on a whim.
Laura, Meg and I had just arrived in Indiana, and had decided that the first order of business would be to drive out to Clinton County and Frankfort in order to find, if possible, some Democrats in a rural part of the state.
It was a […]

Clinton K.O.’d?

May 7th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hillary Clinton has likened herself to Rocky - she’s a fighter. She never gives up. She’s even signed boxing gloves for supporters.

It’s darn close in Indiana

May 6th, 2008 · No Comments

With Lake County finally reporting in, it looks like Clinton gets 50.9 percent and Obama gets 49.1. They’re saying it’s still “too early” to call Indiana, although CBS has projected Clinton will win the state.
CNN’s […]

May 5th, 2008 · 9 Comments

GARY-As I arrived in Gary, Indiana today, I passed through several residential neighborhoods and noticed many Obama signs. And many more Obama signs. Actually, the most I have seen in the state so far.
It’s a beautiful sunny day today, people are out tending their lawns, and people are also working very hard. It was around […]

On the road in Indiana: At Dunkin Donuts

May 5th, 2008 · No Comments

MERRILLVILLE–I’m at a Dunkin Donuts, around the corner from where Hillary Clinton is due to speak.
“Did you see that, there’s a big crowd at the firehouse, it’s packed. I saw a limo,” said Glen Sjodin to two older men sitting in the corner sipping coffee, as he walked in.
One looked up from his crossword puzzle, and said, […]
