Republican voters not all on board with McCain

May 13th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Earlier I wrote about the idea that new Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr, who has a reputation for being ultra-conservative in his years as a congressman, could attract Republican voters who aren’t on board with presumptive Republican nominee John McCain.
While McCain has been the presumptive nominee since March 4, when he earned the necessary number […]

Clinton takes West Virginia in a landslide

May 13th, 2008 · 1 Comment

CNN’s numbers for West Virginia: with 20% of precincts reporting, Hillary Clinton has 63% of the vote (47,562) to Barack Obama’s 30% (22,824).

All signs point to Sen. Hillary Clinton scoring a huge victory in West Virginia’s primary today. The demographics are great for her - lots of older voters and blue-collar workers, and a small black population - and Sen. Barack Obama is spending the day all the way over in Missouri, hardly attempting to challenge […]

Clinton K.O.’d?

May 7th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hillary Clinton has likened herself to Rocky - she’s a fighter. She never gives up. She’s even signed boxing gloves for supporters.
But has Barack Obama finally knocked her out?

It’s a beautiful sunny day today, people are out tending their lawns, and people are also working very hard. It was around […]

May 3rd, 2008 · 3 Comments

INDIANAPOLIS  — “No money!” yelled a man in the passing car, his words trailing in the blustering wind of downtown Indianapolis.
People in Indiana are helpful.
Laura, Meg and I had been trying to feed the meter. I guess you don’t have to do that on Saturday mornings.

By Meghan Peters and Will Mari
FRANKFORT, IN — While driving down Clinton Avenue in Clinton County, we thought passing a Clinton lawn sign would be the icing on the cake. It’d make for a catchy title to our first post in […]

Obama supporters speak out; analysts ask what (and who) is ahead?

April 24th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Outside of Hillary Clinton’s Park Hyatt hotel victory speech in downtown Philadelphia Tuesday, I was given a lesson in spelling.
“Hillary is the Rock of Gibraltar. R-O-C-K. You can’t shake her,” Cyprian Anyanwu, founder of African Congress USA, Inc. said.
Anyanwu was standing on the road median of Broad St., across from the hotel. Among him were […]
