Yes, we all know that Sen. Clinton is touting her recent win in West Virginia as a sign that she’s still alive. But the consensus in most media outlets is that this is a hollow victory, to say the least, and that it doesn’t mean much.

West Virginia primary update

New numbers, same result: With 94% of precincts reporting, CNN shows that Clinton has 67% of the vote (226,812) and Obama has 26% (87,466). 16 delegates go to Clinton and 7 go to Obama, with 5 delegates so far unaccounted for.

Clinton takes West Virginia in a landslide

CNN’s numbers for West Virginia: with 20% of precincts reporting, Hillary Clinton has 63% of the vote (47,562) to Barack Obama’s 30% (22,824).
And of course, Clinton is the projected winner.
Clinton’s main argument stemming from her West Virginia win is that, historically speaking, a candidate needs to win the state to also win the White House.
